Description

Randy is leading a study of the Gospel of Thomas. Thomas is a non-canonical gospel that was known only by the writings of those early Christian teachers who criticized it. It was unearthed at Nag Hammadi, Egypt in 1947 along with many other ancient texts. What makes it worth studying is that most of it may be found in the Synoptic Gospels. It is entirely made up of sayings of Jesus. The recommended text is The Five Gospels: What Did Jesus Really Say? The Search for the Authentic Words of Jesus by scholars of the Jesus Seminar. But there are many inexpensive editions of Thomas to be found.
