The Episcopal Church of the Ascension is one of the largest Episcopal churches in the Washington D.C. area, with six Sunday Eucharists and two complete Sunday Schools at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Even though our numbers say we are "large," the feeling here is warm, welcoming and friendly. We value independent thinking, tolerance of others, and radical hospitality to all of God's children. We are committed disciples of Jesus Christ, and we believe that discipleship is lived out in our daily lives, at work, at home and at school. Church is not the end of our journey, but the starting place. Each week we come here to praise God, share Eucharist, and be formed to be God's people in the world.
